I Return from the Depths for Berdina!

Well, hello!

I've been a bad blogger.  I knew it'd been a while since I last posted, but... um, how was your February and March?

Part of the reason I haven't been writing is because life has gotten in the way.  We lost another person on my team at work and it's taken many, many hours to keep our projects afloat as we readjust our staffing.  I also decided to run a marathon, and my pre-work morningtime is spent pounding the pavement.  This seemed like a good, fun idea when I signed up for it in February.  It really did.  Today my foot is sore and I'm thinking competitive eating would be a better hobby.

The main reason is that Alice has been super lazy and boring.  She hasn't enjoyed the cold winter and has let us know her displeasure by laying in bed and grunting at us.  Not a very scintillating topic.  Even right now, she's flopped out on a blanket pile, watching TV.  And it's not even a new show, but a rerun

I figure I'd wait until spring really starts and we can enjoy going outside again and do things to share some stories, but I got a note today and felt it was time to write again.

Remember a couple of years ago when Alice, The Human Male, and I went searching for Berdina, a foster dog who escaped on a walk in DC and was suspected to be hiding out in Maryland?  Then remember how nearly a year later, she was found?  Berdina was quickly adopted by her foster dad and life was good.  Unfortunately, her owner passed away unexpectedly last week, and she's now back at the Washington Animal Rescue League and looking for a new family.

There are no words.  I can't believe the past two years this dog has had-- and who knows what happened to her before then.  Needless to say, Berdina needs help.  WARL is hoping to find her a new foster or home to get her out of the shelter, and quickly.

If you or anyone you know, anyone you don't know, anyone you've ever passed by on the street or heard through whispered rumors, has a Berdina-shaped hole in your/their home and life, please contact Mary Jarvis at mary.jarvis |at| warl.org for more information.  Berdina's Website will also be updated with new details, too.

Let's help find Berdina a new place in the world!
